2017-2018 Kindergarten students living under 1.5 miles will receive a letter once the Kindergarten Registration process is complete.

February 3, 2017

Good Afternoon Parents/Guardians,

We are beginning to plan for transportation services for the 2017-2018 school year.  We have recently updated our Versatran bus routing software with new county maps.  Under Massachusetts General Law all children residing in a regional school district in grades kindergarten through twelve who reside more than two miles from the school they are entitled to attend are eligible for free bus transportation. The Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District Transportation policy determines transportation eligibility as all students who live 1.5 miles or more from their school.

All students in Grades K -12 who live less than 1.5 miles from their respective school are determined to be not eligible for free bus transportation.   Families receiving “Pay to Ride” correspondence have been determined under the new county maps to live less than 1.5 miles from their school.  Therefore, if you received a letter and wish to have your child ride the school bus to school and from school for the 2017-2018 school year, please register by completing the Registration for Regular Education Student Transportation form during the registration period of February 1 thru February 28, 2017. Completed registration forms must be submitted to the Superintendent's Office by 4 PM on February 28, 2017.

The transportation fee is $300.00 per student with a family cap of $600.  Payments may be made online at the website indicated on the form or by bank check or money order.  Please note, no personal checks will be accepted.  The payment deadline is February 28, 2017.

Group bus stops will be assigned based on proximity to student residences. However, you may need to request a bus stop other than the one assigned to you in order to coordinate with day care arrangements. If so, please complete the enclosed Alternate Transportation for Day Care Form.  Once completed submit this form along with your completed Pay-to-Ride Student Transportation Form.  If space is available, your child will be assigned to a bus and stop closest to the address you have indicated on the form.

Your response during the registration period is greatly appreciated and will help to ensure a smooth opening of school in the fall.  In June, we will provide you with a bus pass and a letter that will indicate the bus stop time and location.  Should you have any questions at that time, please feel free to contact the Transportation Office at 508-279-2140 option 7.
