From the Superintendent's Desk... Welcome to the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District. The mission of the district is to provide excellence in education for all students in an environment that values the individual. The District provides educational services to approximately 6000 students residing in Bridgewater and Raynham in grades Pre-K through 12. Students residing in other communities are eligible to attend school in the District in accordance with the provisions of Massachusetts School Choice Program. This year the district is providing a full-day kindergarten pilot program at G. H. Mitchell Elementary School and the L. B. Merrill School. We are implementing new grade level learning standards in grades Pre-K through 8. They will serve as the basis for what is taught and represent what each student should know and be able to do by the end of the school year. The middle schools have a new program of studies this year. Unified Arts are being offered on a trimester basis in the areas of Art, Music, World Cultures, and Computer Technology. Additionally, teams of teachers are developing interdisciplinary units. The high school has newly designed, rigorous educational levels-Advanced Placement, Accelerated, and Academic. In an effort to provide you with a current view of our schools, we encourage you to access this Website: www.bridge-rayn.org. We look forward to working with parents and students during this school year. You may be assured that we will work to provide students with the best education possible. Sincerely, Jacqueline B. Forbes, Ph.D. Superintendent of Schools
